Local & Global
Mercy Initiatives
As people who have experienced God’s mercy in Christ, God now calls us to tangibly express his mercy, compassion, and justice. Liberti churches seek to be communities where people are helped with practical needs, and where everyone is encouraged to use their gifts to serve those in need. We organize, train, and equip people and churches to serve, and develop partnerships among our churches and with other local organizations.
Through global partnerships we learn from and share in the mutual blessing and encouragement of our brothers and sisters around the world. Through the unified efforts of the body of Christ, both local and global, we pursue the holistic healing of individuals and the transformation of communities around the world.
Respecting image-bearers: We believe that every human being is made in the image of God, and consequently contains inherent dignity regardless of their beliefs, social standing, living conditions, past-present-or future successes and failures. In recognizing the inherent dignity of human life, we likewise recognize the responsibility to live, speak, and serve in such a way that gives honor and respect to every image-bearer of God.
People-oriented partnerships: Partnerships are oftentimes task-oriented, but we prefer our initiatives to be oriented around people, both the ones we serve and the ones we serve beside. In everything we do, we want to know and to learn from the image-bearer that we serve, and the image-bearer we serve beside, even if it costs us more time or energy. At the end of the day, people will populate the kingdom of God, not spreadsheets.
How We Do Local & Global Mercy Initiatives
-
Summer Youth Mission Trip
Recently the churches of the Liberti Communion partnered together for a joint, regional youth missions trip. Leaders from Liberti Main Line, Liberti Northeast, and Bridge Community Church teamed up with Verity Outreach (a ministry partner in North Philadelphia) to share the ministry experience and wisdom of all our leaders across our youth groups.
On the trip we were able to visit and support multiple different ministries and nonprofits across the greater Philadelphia region, including the Salvation Army and long-term partner AlphaCare in West Philadelphia, a nonprofit that serves pregnant women and families by providing health and social services.

Global Partnerships
Some of the most profound experiences of God's provision and love have come to our leaders from trips overseas and interactions with other brothers and sisters of the faith working diligently to share the Good News. We carry our brothers and sisters with us in our hearts and we remember to pray for them often and the work that God is doing in and through them. In this, our partnerships overseas are more than financial; they are personal and they set the standard for how we wish to engage in future missions. It is our goal that the ties between our churches and missionaries or overseas partners is not held solely by our leaders but by our congregants, from where future missionaries and global leaders will emerge.

By God's grace, we have been brought into a relationship with people of different cultures and countries but with like-minded hearts to see God's love change the world.

How we do ministry is just as important as what we do when it comes to treating people. The people are not the means to the mission, they ARE the mission.
