A New Chapter.
On January 12, 2004, I sat in my parents' basement and loaded up my needle.
The next day, January 13, I surrendered as I got into a car and went to rehab. That day a lost, frightened, mentally, physically, and emotionally broken person began to experience God’s unconditional love in Jesus.
I was a drug addict in a methadone clinic due to my heroin addiction. I was 135 lbs- a shell of a human. But God had not forgotten me. Even in the darkest parts of my life, the light of God began to shine through. From that day forward, God has used my life to let light shine into the darkness of others. That was 16 years ago to this day. I have, by God’s grace, not looked back to my addiction.
This brings me to this new chapter in my life. Having experienced God’s profound mercy in my own life, I am called to display God’s mercy and justice to the world. After 9 years on staff at Liberti Center City and Mainline, I have prayerfully decided, with the full support of my wife, Amrah, to become a missionary for the Liberti Network to the Philadelphia Region. In this new role, I will be able to deepen my ministry to the most vulnerable populations. I will support the Liberti Network by:
Leading and training churches to serve some of the region's most vulnerable populations.
Managing and expanding ministries such as Emmanuel and Easter Outreach.
Initiating new Mercy and Justice Projects to better serve "the least of these."
While this decision has been incredibly difficult- I have been blessed with the support of those around me. The next couple of months will include a lot of transitions for both me and my family. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
During this time there are several ways you can support us:
Pray for us:
Personal Support- pray for my family in this time of transition.
Amrah and my daughters- that we can connect to a stable community that can love and care for us as a family.
Focus and renewed energy in this time of transition.
Invest in our ministries: volunteer with Easter Outreach or Emmanuel!
Donate: as a missionary to the Greater Philadelphia region, I will be raising support for my salary. Please prayerfully consider supporting me through one-time or monthly giving.
Thank you for your love and support.
In Christ,
Vito Baldini
