My gratitude speaks when I care and share with others...

Ministry Update

What a year it has been, a roller coaster for sure. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, and while it has been a tough year in many respects, I am grateful for the way the church has responded, and I am grateful for all of you!

Last year, at this time, I decided to leave full-time pastoral ministry in the local church. My goal was to do regional mercy and justice work – working with the local church. The blessing is that this is exactly what I have done, and I love it. This is why this newsletter is a huge THANK YOU!! Many people have supported me and my family that I am blown away by the love and support you have shown to me. I look at this as a picture of the Lord’s love and provision, a picture of the Gospel, the good news of Jesus to the world.

“My gratitude speaks when I care and share with others the NA way.”

This is the opening quote from Narcotics Anonymous, the 12-step program I attend that has helped me stay clean for 16 years. The work I do is an expression of my gratitude to God and all of you for your generous support. This is how my gratitude speaks – through my actions. I don’t take others' generosity lightly and am grateful to be doing this work with all of you. I would never have dreamed what this year could be. I would love to invite all of you into partnership this coming year to join me again in this great work.

In the last year, I launched the non-profit, Small Things, to work as a food distributor across the region. We have seen so many amazing things happening out of this work. If you would like to learn more or get more updates, you can sign up for the Small Things email here.

Also, I need your continued support and encouragement. If you would like to make a year-end gift, it would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to our continued partnership in 2021!

Personal Note

While much of this year has been great, it has also been a hard year, especially for my family. I have worked a ton while Amrah has also worked part-time and been a full-time mom. This is all during a pandemic, and it has put a strain on my family. Please continue to pray for me to find a better balance.

In the middle of all of this, we are getting in the holiday spirit. I put up some lights, and the girls loved it. We are seeing joy even in all this and getting to know the people on our block really well. I just can’t wait for the time when I can have my girls play with their friends again.

Prayer Requests

  1. For Amrah and the girls to find a rhythm with being isolated.

  2. For me to find more time to unplug and be with the family.

  3. For the launch of Small Things and our ongoing financial support.
